Our Practice: Welcome to Cary Gastroenterology. We look forward to serving your gastroenterology needs in a professional, caring and supportive environment.  Cary Gastroenterology is a medical specialty practice whose mission is to diagnose and treat diseases of the digestive tract for adults. Our physicians have varying broad backgrounds, and over 85 years of combined experience in gastroenterology.  

Hours:  Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm; and Friday 8am to 2pm.  We are available at all times throughout the week to assist you with any needs you may have.

Registration as a new patient:  Your first visit with us will be one that requires many questions and many forms.  It is important that you provide accurate and complete information to ensure proper care and billing for services.  In respect for your privacy, we ask that you let us know today to whom we may discuss your medical care, treatment and financial information. 

Your Medications:  In the interest of your safety, it is best to always bring your medication bottles with you to each visit.  This allows us to ensure accurate information in medication name, dosage, and frequency.  If you need refills of your medications, we ask that you communicate this with both the support staff and your physician.  We will make every effort to fill all of your prescriptions through your next office visit.  It is, however, your responsibility to ensure that you have your medication filled in a timely manner.  If you are in need of a refill authorization, please have your pharmacy fax a request directly to us at 919.233.7685. Please ensure that this request is made no less than 7 days before you run out of your medication to ensure adequate time to fill your prescription or discuss your care with you. 

After your visit:  If you have any questions about your visit, care or treatment plan please call to speak first with our medical support staff.  Our nurses and medical assistants are always available to assist. 

After Hours Care:  Should you find yourself in need of medical advice or direction after hours; please note that our answering service will notify the physician on call of your need.  Often, patients will have questions about the prep required the evening before their procedure.  It is very important that the prep is done properly, and if you have any questions after hours, do not hesitate calling us.  Cary Gastroenterology will not be able to call in refills of medication after hours.

Billing:   Cary Gastroenterology accepts and files most major insurance plans.  If you have questions concerning your insurance, please discuss this with us.  We have several billing staff available to assist with any questions you may have as well.   While we understand that insurance coverage issues can often be difficult to understand, it is your responsibility to know coverage limitations of your plan. This includes billing of procedures done at Raleigh Endoscopy Center or Wake Med.  Again, we are always here to assist and willing to help with any questions.
