Michael J. Brody, M.D.

Dr. Michael J. Brody

Dr. Michael Brody is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. He received his medical degree from the Thomas Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, PA, where he was awarded the Henry Keller Mohler Memorial Prize for outstanding medical student in Therapeutics. He then completed an internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Brody completed his gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC, with subspecialty training in esophageal disorders, including Gastroesophageal Reflux, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and disorders of the biliary tract. He joined Cary Gastroenterology in 2001.

Dr. Brody is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Michael G. DeLissio, M.D.

Dr. Michael G. Delissio

Dr. Michael DeLissio is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of S.U.N.Y. Albany, Albany, NY. He received his medical degree from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo School of Medicine. He then completed an internship and residency at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo. Dr. DeLissio completed his gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT, where he also was a USPHS Trainee in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism. His interests include colon diseases, peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux and clinical research. He joined Cary Gastroenterology in 1987.

Dr. Delissio is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the North Carolina Medical Society and the Wake County Medical Society.

Stephen J. Furs, M.D.

Dr. Stephen J. Furs

Dr. Stephen J. Furs is a graduate of the Honors Program at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, CT. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Connecticut, Farmington, CT. Dr. Furs completed a fellowship in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut, Farmington, CT, followed by his fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC, where he added a third year of fellowship training in diagnostic and therapeutic biliary procedures. He has special interest in clinical research, biliary procedures, Hepatitis C and colon cancer screening. He joined Cary Gastroenterology in 1997.

Dr Furs is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the NC Society of Gastroenterologists, and the NC Medical Society.

Christopher E. McGowan, M.D.

Dr. Christopher E. McGowan

Dr. Christopher E. McGowan graduated with High Distinction from the Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship and residency at Brown University in Providence, RI, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. McGowan completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the University of North Carolina School at Chapel Hill, where he also received advanced training in epidemiology and clinical research methodology, earning a Masters of Science in Clinical Research. He joined Cary Gastroenterology in 2014.

Dr. McGowan is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Society, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology.

Juliana Miller, M.D.

Dr. Juliana Miller

Dr. Juliana Miller is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. She received her medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. She completed her internship and residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Dr. Miller completed her fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. She has special interest in women’s GI health issues and colon cancer screening. She joined Cary Gastroenterology in 2013 after 9 years in a solo gastroenterology practice in Raleigh.

Dr. Miller is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Miller sees female patients at our Women’s Center for GI Health in Raleigh and both male and female patients at our Cary and Holly Springs locations.

Jeevan J. Pai, M.D

Dr. Jeevan Pai is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, NB. He received his medical degree from the Nebraska Medical School in Omaha, NB. He completed his internship and residency at Creighton University, Omaha, NB. Dr. Pai completed his fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology at Louisiana State University, New Orleans, LA. He has special interest in GERD, colon cancer screening, clinical research and capsule endoscopy. He joined Cary Gastroenterology in 2006.

Dr. Pai is Board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Shannon Scholl, M.D.

Dr. Shannon Scholl is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC. During her medical training, she additionally earned a Master’s of Public Health at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Public Health, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Scholl completed her fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC. She has special interest in women’s GI health issues, liver disease, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative colitis. She joined Cary Gastroenterology in 2009.

Dr. Scholl is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Scholl sees female patients at our Women’s Center for GI Health in Raleigh and both male and female patients at our Cary and Holly Springs locations.
