Welcome to Cary Gastroenterology Associates

Cary Gastroenterology is a medical specialty practice whose mission is to diagnose and treat diseases of the digestive tract for adults, with a primary focus on quality care and service.  Our physicians have varying broad backgrounds, and over 85 years of combined experience in gastroenterology.

We strive to provide the highest standard of medical care in a personal, compassionate and professional environment.  Since 1986, we have been dedicated to the field of Adult Gastroenterology, providing care to thousands of patients, diagnosing and treating such disorders as colon cancer, diverticulitis, gastritis, ulcerative colitis and liver disorders.

Cary Gastroenterology performs procedures at Raleigh Endoscopy Center of Cary (www.raleighendoscopy.com) and Wakemed Cary Hospital (www.wakemed.org). Please log into their website for more information about their facilities, and directions.

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month

Cary Gastroenterology has been working in our community to battle colon cancer for over 30 years.  In the last year alone, our seven physicians have performed over 8,000 colonoscopies; and we have done this with remarkable quality and cost containment.

We track and record quality measures such as Adenoma Detection Rate; with a practice average of 51.95% - significantly higher than the national guideline of 25%.

Screening for colon cancer starts at age 45 for African Americans, and age 50 for most others.  If you have a first degree relative (parent, sibling, offspring) with colon cancer, you need to be tested regardless of age.  Colon cancer is preventable, and can be beaten.

We have dedicated schedulers on staff to provide immediate scheduling of screening colonoscopies. For more information and statistics regarding colon cancer, please visit the Colon Cancer Alliance.
